I was going to hire a debt settlement company at a cost to me of many thousands of dollars to me AND no guarantee that they would do what i am paying them to do. So i decided, what the heck, why not self-negotiate with my creditors?
It is better to seek help from any reputed debt settlement company. Such companies can handle it properly as they are experts in that field. I took help of freedom debt relief to negotiate with my creditors. I have joined their debt reduction program one year back and almost debt free now.

My credit card companies wouldn't work with me at all. In fact, when they found out I lost my job, my interest jumped from 9% to 30%. I called each of them and gave them one last chance to work with me. When they basically told me to go fly a kite and that maybe they'd lower my interest by 2% in 6 months, I went ahead and filed for bankruptcy..
I didn't even want them to lower the balance, just the interest back to my rate before I lost my job. They wouldn't even do that, so now none of the filthy bloodsuckers is getting anything else from me.
I didn't even hire a bloodsucking lawyer that wanted to charge me $2000 to file for bankruptcy. I filed on my own back in January and am already discharged..

i wouldnt try it. why not use a company with great experience and a good track record. i shopped around forever and i found this company with the lowest fees and best service. i had 10k in debt and they gave me a low monthly payment and cut my debt in half. now i am debt free and i only paid back $4,500 best company around with debt settlement. i used debtfreeleague.
